Add height from global earth height map

Since my GPS logger is so bad that it can't report height accurately, it would be great if there would be a filter that adds height for each xy point instead of recorded height.

Can't recognize my logger file format. Logger BTGP-38KM

Says "It's possible that it is a valid file format (such as KML) that doesn't contain any timestamped data", but i know timestamps are in it. It's can be non-standard binary data. Sample file: http://ubuntuone.com/p/Y5X/ (.dat, and same track in...

I'd be interested in having heartrate and speed info combined to give some sense of running efficiency, vO2, etc.

By combining heart rate and speed it should be possible to see if my running economy is improving as I train, and also how it varies with distance.

Auto detection of ski slopes vs lifts

Between 2 stops in a track, you could detect if elevation is constantly increasing or decreasing. Decreasing elevation is ski/board, increasing elevation is lift. Then time and speeds could be measured for ski only, or for ski and lift...

Junk logs appearing in Trend Graphs

When I go to Organize > Tags, select a tag, then go to Trend Graphs, the first graph shown ("Average Speed") contains points referring to logs, and when I click on one anomalous point I see it's a log which has been marked as junk. Is this the...

Once I want to specify "stat place" the suggestion is for "end place".

Places not showing correct number of days

I have several places defined on a couple of logs and they show fine when I view them in maps, logs etc. But when I go to organise & places > view all places. It shows these places in red showing that there is no days for the places. Yet when I...

Increase (a bit) the 15mo upload file limit (just fine most of the time but i have a few times 18~19 mo files)

Everything is in the title ;)
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 27.01.2011
The maximum upload size has been increased to 20 MB.

todays run didn't log. I think it would be good to record a dummy log manually, obviously not all the points, but the route, date and time (I have that from watch) so that the distance, tags, notes can be recorded.

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 08.02.2011
A new page has been added at http://gpsloglabs.com/uploads/manual/ where you can key in stats for activity that wasn't recorded by a GPS logger.

This activity will be included in your goals, reports and other stats wherever possible.

What about to add to 'Home/This week's activity' sums per tag: total time duration, distance?

What about to add to 'Home/This week's activity' sums per tag: total time duration, distance? I did not find where to see the total distance per week. I am able to make my own report per last seven days which is not what I want.
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 27.01.2011
I've added "Week totals" for tags and places to the bottom right of the "This week's activity" table, and also to the Activity tab of the week calendar page.

Specify the tag at the import

What about possibility to choose the (default) tag for all tracks given by imported .gpx file?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 28.01.2011
I want to keep the upload form as simple as I can, so I won't be adding any tag selection options at that point.

However, I have added the ability to set tags for all the segments at once from the tags popup form.

That together with tagging while uploading via email should suffice I hope.

can I manually remove bad datapoints? I have a track that shows 2000 km/h max, and applying a speed limit filter does not help

some datapoints are bad (I was in a ski lift) which skews the speed calculation, could I remove these without having to segment my track?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 24.02.2011
If the Speed filter isn't working properly, you may be able to get a better result by increasing the "window" so it discards a few more points on either side of the "spike".

Failing that, or if there is only one or two "spikes", you can use a Time Filter and highlight the "spike" and it will be deleted.

Since it happened in a particular location, you may be also be able to use a Position filter, but that will only work if you didn't ski under the lift as well.

Can i help you to translate GPSLog Labs site to hungarian?

Hi, i'm Gábor from Hungary. Can i help you to translate to my language?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 01.06.2011
Yes, help with the translations is greatly appreciated. If you want to translate the site into another language or improve an existing translation, then contact tom@gpsloglabs.com. A rough guide to the process can be found at http://gpsloglabs.com/help_translation.html, it's pretty easy and every little bit of work helps.

gravatar as avatar

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 20.07.2011
Good idea, and easy to implement too.

You now have 3 choices for buddy icons/avatars:
1) Upload your image to GPSLog Labs as before
2) Upload your image to http://gravatar.com/ (and enter the same email address into your GPSLog Labs profile.)
3) Or, let Gravatar automatically generate a nice little unique space-invader avatar automatically for you.

Fullscreen map or just bigger size of map with track

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 02.09.2011
Most maps on the site now have a "View full-screen" link that will expand them to fill the browser window.

If there are any I've missed that you think should be expandable, let me know.

iPhone Logger auto uploads with extra files

Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 13.12.2011
I've added a "Delete Selected Logs" button to the "Log Files" tab on the device page (your devices are shown at the bottom of the home page.)

This will let you select as many log files as you like and delete them all in one go. You should be able to sort by filename to quickly find all the unwanted extra uploads.

Coordinates in Distance Finish Time Predictions plot?

The Distance Finish Time Predictions is pretty useless sinc I cannot read coordination of the cross. The logarithmic scale is not so intuitive. Will be possible to show coordinates (let say beside the plot)?
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 12.04.2011
The graph now displays the distance/time values of the crosshair position.

i-Blue 747 importing problems

Hi, I am having some problems importing my CSV data from my data logger i-Blue 747. It used to work perfectly before (1 year ago) but now my log files do not seem to be imported. However, I can convert my CSV file with my own copy of GPSBABEL...
Response from the site administrator
tompaton, 16.07.2011
I'm not really sure why, but some time since you last used GPSLog Labs and now, the file format has changed. Try creating a new device and uploading the log files to that, the system will find which format works properly.
